Niseko Memories is a vacation and family photography service in Hokkaido, Japan, operated by Nomado Ltd. We are the sister company of Queenstown Memories in New Zealand. Nomado Ltd is a Queenstown-founded photography company now operating in Niseko and throughout Japan.
Sessions are available in Niseko, Hirafu, Otaru, and Lake Toya, with packages from ¥50,000. Edited galleries are delivered within 5 working days. We work in English and Japanese, and travel to Otaru and Lake Toya is included in every package price.
Sessions are led by our local photographer, supported by a small team of contractors. Relaxed, unhurried, and built around you rather than a shot list.

Niseko & Hirafu
Our home base. Lupin fields in spring, powder snowfields in winter, the Annupuri ridgeline at any time of year. We know exactly where the light falls and when.
Otaru
The canal district, the glassworks laneway, and the old merchant buildings make Otaru one of Hokkaido's most photogenic towns. A 40-minute drive from Niseko.
Lake Toya
A caldera lake ringed by mountains. Clear water, open skies, and a stillness that photographs beautifully in every season. About 40 minutes from Niseko.
Hanazono & Beyond
We also photograph at Hanazono, Konbu Onsen, and selected off-map locations for clients who want something less expected. Ask us what suits your dates.
No transport surcharge for sessions within the Niseko area. Travel to Otaru or Lake Toya is included in the package price.

How much does a Niseko photoshoot cost?
Niseko Memories charges ¥50,000 for a one-hour session for couples or families of up to 5. The Tour Groups package is ¥80,000 for 2 hours at 2 locations for groups up to 30. The Niseko Ski Photography package is ¥110,000 and includes a professional ski guide. All prices include editing and online gallery delivery within 5 working days.
How many photos will we receive?
A 1-hour session typically produces 50 to 80 professionally edited images. A 2-hour session produces around 120 to 160. All images are delivered in full resolution via a private online gallery within 5 working days, downloadable to any device.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Hokkaido weather is part of what makes it special. Snow, mist, and overcast winter skies often produce the best images. For sessions significantly affected by conditions, the team works with you to adapt timing or reschedule where possible. We know Niseko's weather and light extremely well.
Can you photograph us on the mountain?
Yes. The Niseko Ski Photography package is designed exactly for this. A professional ski guide accompanies the session to access the best terrain safely. Powder runs, lift shots, and candid ski moments. Available winter season only.
Do you photograph in summer and autumn?
Yes. Hokkaido photographs well in every season. Lupins bloom in late May and June, lavender in July and August, foliage turns crimson in October. We can advise on the precise timing for each season to help you plan around your travel dates.
Where do you photograph in Hokkaido?
Niseko Memories is based in Niseko and covers Niseko, Hirafu, Hanazono, Otaru, and Lake Toya. For wedding photography anywhere in Hokkaido, please visit Nomad Weddings Japan.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking at least two weeks ahead. During peak ski season (January to March) and the lupin and lavender season (June to August), popular dates fill quickly and we suggest booking four to six weeks out. Same-week bookings are sometimes possible outside peak periods.
Is there Japanese language support?
Yes. Our team communicates in both English and Japanese. All enquiries can be sent in either language and we will reply accordingly. This applies to email, WhatsApp, and the booking form.
